The Birmingham News is reporting that Demetrius Jemison will seek a transfer. Jemison will be the third player in two years (joining Yamene Coleman and Justin Knox) to seek a transfer.
The short-term effect of this could be dire as Alabama now only has three guys that can be considered frontcourt players (JaMychal Green, Chris Hines and Jason Carter). Jemison's decision to transfer is odd since he could have been a probable starter. He claims there are no hard feelings against Grant or his staff and that his decision is being supported by Grant. Schools that have expressed early interest in Jemison include Murray State and Nebraska. Since he has graduated, he will be eligible to play immediately.
Hopefully this move was spurred by another frontcourt recruit that we haven't heard about yet. If not, then Alabama will be faced once again with a severe lack of depth in the frontcourt. Hopefully incoming recruit Jason Carter is ready to play. If not, Alabama will be a very small team next season.
