Tony Mitchell Confirms Return for Junior Season
Not a big surprise, but there was certainly enough chatter about his potential early-entry to make some nervous. I think he's making the right decision. I do believe he can play at the next level, but another year of development under this coaching staff will certainly increase his chances. With JaMychal, Trevor and Tony returning, along with the solid bench contributors and the incoming freshmen, next season could be very exciting for Alabama fans.
From the Birmingham News: Alabama sophomore forward Tony Mitchell wants to play in the NBA someday, but he isn't ready to make that leap now.
"No doubt, I'm coming back, to finish out with JaMychal, a young Trevor and lot of other cats." he said after practice Wednesday, referring to junior forward JaMychal Green and freshman point guard Trevor Releford.
"I haven't been thinking at all about going pro. That's my ultimate goal, but I've got a lot of things here to work on to get where I need to go: ballhandling, defense, shot, a lot of stuff. As soon as the season's over, I'll put in the work in the gym."
