Alabama Signs One More
Per RollTide.com, Alabama has signed another player in the 2011 class. Retin Ojomoh, a guard from Belgium, has signed a letter of intent. If my math is correct, that means the program is now at its full scholarship limit going into next season. He is currently a member of the Belgian under-20 national team. Hit the link to learn more.
I'm not sure the team needed another guard. Personally, I would have liked them to sign another interior player. With that said, it is nice that the coaching staff is looking far and wide for talent that not only can help immediately but also develop into possible impact players down the road. Best of luck to Retin as he begins his career in Tuscaloosa.

Ben Eblen is not ready for prime time.
Any word of where Durant and Carter are transferring to? I've been wondering.
Maybe Eblen will take on a role that Steele takes, if Steele is limited with his health in carrying out his role, (and Eblen is certainly capable with his defensive efforts against opposing guards) but these would be under very situational circumstances.
This makes it reasonable to expect Ojomoh to concentrate on development as a point guard and be capable of supporting Releford.
Alabama's guards will be especially be needed on the floor against SEC opponents such as Arkansas, which is rising in strength at guard and defensive play under their new coach.
But yeah, we definitely are in short supply of forwards (mainly 4: Green, Gueye, Engstrom, Jacobs, maybe Mitchell), but I wonder if this situation is by design, for it serves as an enticement in the recruitment of some major super recruits at forward in 2012. Reckon?
(Good luck to Alabama Softball with defeating Stanford in the Super-Regions, televised Thursday night on ESPN ! ! )
From what I understand we found out about this kid because Coach Brannen used to play in Europe, and somebody that Coach Brannen played with called him up and said he was interested in playing college ball over here rather than going pro in Europe.
I think we expect him to be able to help us out at backup PG.
