Piecing together the schedule...VCU

VCU is coming to Tuscaloosa on Sunday, November 27th. Tip off time has not been announced yet. This is the Sunday following the Alabama-auburn football game. This game scares me, as the Rams have a good young coach in Shaka Smart, and will be motivated against their former coach. It being Thanksgiving weekend and the day after the Iron Bowl which is played in auburn this year could mean a not-so-great home environment for us.

Not only a big game for the remaning VCU players recruited by Grant, but a big game for Shaka Smart as well. There were quite a few who pointed out his success has been done largely with Grant-recruited players on the roster.

This is the best non-conference schedule for Alabama in quite a while. I just hope it doesn't end up being a case of overscheduling.

Sounds like a made for TV game.

Anonymous: Nope. It's a contract stipulation for VCU coaches that if they leave for another university, they must schedule a home-and-home series with VCU in the future. Alabama will have to travel to VCU next season.

One of the toughest tests we have in
the early part of the schedule is VCU, Georgetown and Dayton together.
Don't underestimate the Flyers. They have been one of the best in the A10
for years.

18 to 19 wins with five or six NCAA
bound teams on the schedule ought to be enough for a NCAA Tournament
appearance.
