Auburn and Florida's 2012-13 schedule

The Barn has stepped it up with games in the Charleston Classic (lots of good teams in there) @ Boston College, home to Rhode Island. FSU, and Depaul and a game vs Illinois in Chicago. Granted the names sound better than the actual teams, but it's a step up from years past for them.

Florida as usual isn't scared to play the big boys. Games against Georgetown, Wisconsin, Marquette, FSU, Arizona, and Kansas St is actually tougher than the SEC season for them.

Auburn has better names than last year

However they have 8 teams that were cupcakes (rpi of over 150) at home. More than 4 or 5 and you do not get invited to the dance. Barbee is aiming for a winning record instead of the NCAAs

Do you think Barbee could find himself on the hot seat soon?

Barbee is safe for another 2 years. Auburn can't continue dropping coaches like Jos A Bank drops buy one get 7 free sales.

I agree with Bobby, but I do think that Barbee has to show some progress this season. His first two seasons have been marred by a number of players he recruited either transferring or being kicked off the team. This has prevented him from laying a foundation with which to build on and he's essentially found himself starting over each season.

He doesn't necessarily have to make the postseason, but he does have to build some expectation for 2013-2014 or he could find himself on the hot seat.
