I'm sorry... I can't help but use $$ when I post about M$U. $ue me.
So.. $tate is 2-0 in conference. They also have some really bad OOC losses to Bama A&M, @ Troy, @ Loyola-Chicago, and @ Providence. I have not seen them play, but by looking at their current roster the only name I know from last year is Jalen Steele. Seems like everyone else 'declared' for the NBA draft.
Someone tell me how a kid from the Bronx ends up @ $tate? Did he (Trivante Bloodman) get lost on Amtrak?
Okay, enough smack talking... let's dive into the stats.
$tate has three averaging double digit scoring in Johnson, Steele, and Thomas. Gavin Ware leads the team in boards (7.1) with Rogues Johnson pulling down 5 as well. From outside Jalen Steele is dropping 3s at a 43% clip. Fred Thomas has taken 92 threes, but is about as good as I am hitting 24% of those.
$tate has issues scoring (63.2). They can't really shoot (41.4/27.8%), turn the ball over a lot (over 17), and are not particularly good on the board (+.2 rebound margin). They squeaked by a rebuilding Gamecocks squad, but did win @ UGA so maybe they are finding their rhythm. I don't know. What I do know I this game is gonna be ugly... the stoppable force vs the moveable object.
Game time is 9PM EST Wednesday on CSS. For those that don't get this channel it's also on ESPN3 (Watchespn.com).
