Releford likely out for State game

Hurt ankle during practice.   Somebody, please, make it stop.

Good thing we have Charles Hankerson and Ben Eblen to lighten the load. Oh wait...

Dang that hurts, however State has losses to Alabama A&M, and other really bad teams, and have also been playing with about 6 or 7 scholarship players all year, if I am not mistaking? So maybe we still have a chance. (wishful thinking?) DJC, do you know if he will be back for the Texas A&M game saturday?

In fairness to State, Jalen Steele was out for some of those embarrassing early season losses, and they are 2-0 in the SEC (albeit UGA and SC aren't exactly final four contenders). Man, this is one dog-shit conference, but I digress.

No idea if he will be back for aTm. I would think there would be a good chance he would be back, since he's only "doubtful" and not definitively out for State.

When it rains, it fricken pours.

I would sit him. This may come back to haunt me, but I still believe Bama can win this game without Releford.

However, Releford needs to be as close to 100% as possible for the A&M game, which is suddenly looking like yet another tough game. If that means sitting him for what amounts to a winnable game, so be it.

If this team wants to maintain any thoughts of any postseason tournament, they have to win a game like this. Even without Releford I think the argument could be made that Bama is still more talented and should simply be the better team.

The conference is a debacle this season. Even Kentucky is struggling. Right now, the league will be lucky if it can send four teams to the big dance. Really disappointing. I thought we would see a higher level of play in the conference this season. The coaches seemed to think this as well as they were very confident during media days that the league could possibly get seven teams into the field.

This 3-5 stretch will likely make or break our season. I agree that we are more talented than State, even without Releford. (Who knows what that will translate to?) However we need all hands on deck, too have any chance in the other games. With Releford we still have a chance to make a run in a weak SEC, without him we don't. Get him ready for A&M Saturday.

Hold him out till he's healthy. Aim to win the SEC Tourney.
